Adelboden, 24 February 2026 – The Bellevue Parkhotel is an icon of the Swiss hospitality industry. An elegant, unpretentious building in the classical modernist style, its white façade has shone like a star over the village of Adelboden since 1931. For 125 years, this multi-award-winning establishment has stood for relaxation and enjoyment – and for the past 100 years, the Richard family has shaped the history of the hotel with dedication and passion. The historic hotel is celebrating this double anniversary with a cultural and culinary journey through the decades: events under the title ‘Music & Wine’ will take place throughout the year. The hotel will explore musical movements and major trends in wine in 20-year increments, weaving them together into an atmospheric whole. The first dinner on 26 March 2026 pays homage to the 1920s – featuring the well-known Bernese jazz musicians Myria Poffet (vocals), Michel Poffet (double bass) and Daniel Woodtli (trumpet) perform first-class swing. The event will be accompanied by wines that were all the rage at the time: champagne and Bordeaux.
Another highlight of the musical series will take place on 20 August 2026, focusing on the 1960s and 1970s. Italian music of that era marked a time of upheaval and reached Switzerland as a cultural treasure that is still cherished today. At the “Canzoni Italiane”, the ensemble “Annalisa Spagnoli – Trio Senza Parole” performs evergreen classics by renowned Italian musicians such as Lucio Battisti, Fabrizio de André, Lucio Dalla, Francesco de Gregori, Ricchi e Poveri and others. The event is accompanied by fine wines from Tuscany and Piedmont. “Through our events, we want to thank our guests, as well as our suppliers, for their loyalty and give them a chance to reminisce about the past,” says Franziska Richard, a member of the family that has been running the hotel for three generations. “And a special thank you goes to our wonderful staff.”
What would the ‘Bellevue’ be without its charming quirks? In the past, a member of the Richard family would take guests on a picnic in the snow. Today, Marc Richard takes them skiing and winter hiking, and for a raclette dinner at the Tschenten-Drom chalet. And then there’s the ‘Bettmümpfeli’ on the guests’ pillows: a question that allows them to take part in a quiz every evening and win a wonderful experience. This, too, will one day become part of the cheerful and moving history of this extraordinary hotel icon.
